Physiological testing shows that the demands of motor sport are as high if not higher than elite marathon runners. With greater aerobic fitness, you’ll conserve precious blood sugar that your brain and nervous system need for making split-second decisions at nearly 200 km/hr.  The consequences of fatigued muscles or a lapse in concentration can cost you a win or put you into the wall.  With more sport-specific strength, you’ll be better prepared to counter the G-forces in the car, which means less accumulated fatigue later in the race.

  • After examining the demands of your specific event, your Optimal Sports coach designs a strength and conditioning program to maximise your performance.
  • Testing, travel, and sponsor events are part of your lifestyle, so we integrate your training and nutrition programs into your schedule to keep you on track.
  • We use weight training not only to develop the strength of your muscles needed to drive and control a race car from start to finish, but also to develop strength endurance so that the muscles can withstand constant abuse and work throughout the entire race weekend at peak levels.
